And old concept for an old dealio.
I liked the subtle blood splatter, the idea is he just got done beating up the background guy.

An old faerie drawing I did to practice finer, more detailed watercolors on.

A sketch from some old train rides, just trying to make a wacked-out outfit that could conceivably exist in everyday life.
Like, I think I saw something similar to those pants in a fashion magazine.
Again, classic no-idea-what-I'm-doing flame powers.

And the final to our jombie dooder. Decided to go with a graveyardy background.
Easter Eggs: A familiar name on the top tombstone.
I noticed a neat effect when I held this up to my little drawing lamp. Looks cooler in person, but his eyes and some of his rotting flesh kinda light up in a spooky sorta way.

And the base colors for our jombie jent.
Coming along in a satisfactory direction, though this reporter has learned the artist was secretly freaking out about what to do for the background. Sources close to the hasbeen say he went to a local 7-11 to chow downward to a solution, though these rumors remain unsubstantiated.
Extra extra, read all about it--a pic of how just the guts were turning out.

Another jombie torn alter token, this one done after the SOI prerelease, just to see if we could go gnarlier.
And kill time.

Trying the G-Pen over some old watercolors again.

My hand got all inked up while in the middle of that Pierce the Veil session that when I was working on this one, the edge of my hand dipped a blunk of ink onto the page, so I decided to work that into the piece, smurdging and smoodzjing ink all around like a mad, mad, happy child.

Spotted this going through that old sketchbook.
It's actual Jinjin, that couriercter I was just talking about.

A live ink to da max with my multi-color ballpoint pen for this (largely useless) Elf Warrior torn alter token. I actually started this a while ago, before SOI rendered Elf Warrior tokens even less relevant, but I finished it off just today in an effort to clear my little docket of tokens that have been waiting to receive finishes.
It does suck that the token is basically unusable, but to be fair, this was more of a learning experience anyway to see how articulate we can get using just this pen. I do know not to mix them with Copics, for example, we learned that. So I'm pretty happy with what we can get, will have to watch the blending a bit more, but next step is to try this on a more usable token. I do love Copics, so I figure this might be just a good option if I'm ever looking for something relatively more straightforward or mobile, since I don't need my Santa-bag of Copics immediately on me for these.

And the finals of Oolf and da Bun at long last.
Again inspiration for this was from Chiara. The background, I was on the fence about. Didn't want to do another night sky, kinda wanted to incorporate more green for the token's actual color, so went with a jungly/foresty-night, somewhat abstract background.

More from my old sketchbook find. I couldn't just put my inks back, so I thought I'd try to give this one some refinement.
Secretly seeing how using just the G-Pen and the Maru pen would work on a piece, to see if I could conceivably ink my comic with just these two and no Microns since the whole losing my regular ink kit on the train situation. Could buy a replacement, but I'd have to take a two hour train ride to get to my usual spot and would love to see if I could be able to be exclusive on G- and Maru if possible.

Was so enchanted with the piece I drew some two years ago, I had to ink it.
I've been live-inking for weeks now--closest I've got to pencils was the circles here--but it's been so soothing getting back to traditional inking this weekend, and the G-Pen is so soothing...I don't know if the live-inking is helping, but regular inking is so much more relaxing now.

I cleared out my current sketchbook so have been looking through my old sketchbooks for free pages to draw in and found this drawing.
I remember being inspired by the design of Noodle from Gorillaz for this, but I also had my courier character, Jinjin, on my mind, too. I really love the military look, and looking back on this, I'm still really happy with this piece.
I couldn't remember why I drew this, until I noticed the emblems, which are actually Easter Eggs, and it all came back to me. I drew this early on after I arrived in Tokyo...it was a test to see if we might be able to do essentially splash images, so like Gorillaz, highly fashionable characters in fake apparel. Never pitched this, though.

And our final for the Jedi Vic piece from the Pierce the Veil doc.
Really fun brewing that specific color for his pants.
Note the clever obfuscation of the spot I made his head to long at.
It's all smoke and mirrors.

Adding in colors to Darth Vic. Again, I like that colorless skin effect, but maybe I have to get past that.

And then another study from the Pierce the Veil documentary to close out our little sketchbook!
Vic was swinging a light saber around for some reason.
Anyway, on to the next sketchbook now, I s'pose.

Found an odd little charm to this doodle. Probably informed my zombie designs, though I'm pretty sure I was thinking of Noodle's design from Gorillaz, at least in the back of my mind.

The antagonist to the little mystery adventure dealio was Geralf and this was his profile pic concept sketch.
Had a lot of fun with the background window's light effects and zombies. Finally getting to put those KNKL lessons into effect, feels great, but worried I'm messing up my back from how I keep finding myself contorting when I use the tablet...I don't get why this is happening all of a sudden.

And another neat shot from the Pierce the Veil documentary study session.
Only one more page until we kill this little pocket sketchbook!
It's been a nice run, all for the low, low price of 119 yen!

Not sure which colored version I prefer, actually. I like the skinless style, you know.

And a Merry Christmas it is--our little Wraith just got her wings.
Again the throat armor took inspiration from Algenpfleger's Solider token, but other than that, just hardcore riffin', especially on the bg. I chose to make the armor designs vaguely based on the letter M, for Markov.
I couldn't have this token fully colored for the SOI prerelease since I needed to pull this peculiarly rare token from one of my packs in the first place. Once I ripped one, I kept it BW for the event since I didn't want to present a half-colored, not-yet-ready-for-prime-time token, especially when the others were all fully colored up or BW themselves.

I decided to color our little experimental letter sketch, from when I randomly bought ice cream for everybody in the share house, all of whom I didn't know.
I used to do stuff like that in college all the time, just randomly leave people snacks and stuff because I'd often win contests in my residential college for free food at the student dive or I'd have spare grub stored up from Commons or the Law School.
I don't like talking to people, so I express my humanity and affection in nonverbal ways, typically through art but also frequently through gifts.
I like art.
I got to eat all that ice cream myself.
