Fun_Resto

My favorite cafe. I used to spend hours and hours and hours here drawing.

I got to talk to one of my art heroes here, too. Did that really happen?

ZLM_EveryonesAVIPtoSomeone

What did I tell you about having self-esteem, loser?

Zero Like Me #179:
Everyone's a VIP to Someone

000

Easter Eggs: "Yale" in panel 1. Today's setting is Fukui-shi, in Japan. Today's guest star is Umezawa (last name) Azami (first name), humorless Japanese Teacher of English, Assistant-Language-Teacher Supervisor, and English Section Head. Today's title is a reference to an old classmate's stellar band's song of the same name (see and hear more Great Caesar here). Umezawa's costume is inspired by a design I saw on DA.

Fun Facts: Umezawa-sensei is yet another antagonist for Zero. She is icy and irritable yet she still heralds the undying Japanese devotion to cute and non-sequitor, for instance today she is wearing a silly outfit including a ridiculously happy hair clip that has nothing to do with her mood.

Baa: For the record, none of what's going on this "season" is intended to depict actual people, events, etc. Ya know?

Yeah....Ya know.

YDN_zlm.Dissent

It isn't the 60s anymore, is it Mr. T?

[Update: Uncensored, final art at top]

Zero Like Me #35: Bulldog Tales Pt.2 - Dissent
<- Previous...Next->
-First-

Easter Eggs: "Yale" in panel 2, my favorite Colbert pose in panel 1, GC.

Fun Facts: Original script was to help establish that Z's Mexican, when he complains about Yale police brutality, when in fact they just give him this piece of paper. Original ending of present script was reference making it onto the YDN website, which I thought was a harmless inside joke, but hilarity did not ensue, desafortunadamente. It's all worked out though, and that's what matters.

Baa: This week's the last one under the current YDN board and it has been one of the most hectic and trying I've ever experienced as a comicser (let the record show that I believe R.S.R. and P.F.M. to be some of the finest Yalies I've encountered). I hope I won't forget this past week or so cuz it looks like I have to take down the censored material and descriptions of the editing processes, although I believe, like Michael Jackson and his trials, I am allowed to express my reactions, just not detail what went down. Anyway, I must now write a paper. In Spanish.

Let's meet Garry on Friday, shall we?

Final artwork coming soon,

Fun_BackToTheBeat

Wrapping up summer with a bang.

Today ends my vegan experience; first thing on the agenda: cookies.

Tomorrow: The Matches in their penultimate show (likely) ever.

As for the piece at left, I am almost finished drawing up a sweet thingy for some neat people.

And we're already at work on various official Yale things--I'm even getting Yale event spam already, which in fact rocks. Even clearing out my old emails is exciting, like a time capsule with all kinds of neat memories in it. Some good, some bad, all great.

Speaking of official Yale art, I was discussing opening year plans with my Sick Little Suicide editor, and while I liked this idea, which came about in record time after this story went up, the piece is likely scrapped, unfortunately.

Anyway, can't wait to get back to Yale!
